Emotional SupportOne-on-one supportBeing Alive is best known for our individualized peer-to-peer support. Whether you are recently diagnosed, or a long term survivor dealing with everyday challenges, we have trained peer support counselors who are living with HIV/AIDS. In addition to emotional support, we offer comprehensive information and referrals to a variety of local services, including primary medical care, housing, substance abuse treatment, mental health and other kinds of referrals. For more details please call or email Bart Stevens (323.874.4322, bart@beingalivela.org). Anyone HIV+ can become a member of Being Alive and have access to all our services. Our goal is to provide a safe and confidential space where individuals can express themselves in an atmosphere of mutual respect and encouragement. Being Alive hosts many interactive educational groups, so depending on who you are and what you are looking for, there is most likely a group to meet your needs.
