Wellness Center Complimentary therapies cover a broad range of healing philosophies and approaches. Some approaches are consistent with physiological principles of Western medicine, while others constitute independent healing systems. Many PWA’s find these therapies support their treatment with HAART therapy. Being Alive provides complimentary therapies to our members in a safe and supportive environment at our West Hollywood facility. These services are provided by caring HIV sensitive practitioners. Being Alive offers a strong menu of therapies which include: Massage, Hypnotherapy, Chiropractic, Yoga, Acupuncture, Reiki and Healing Touch Being Alive provides these services at no cost to our members, although donations are greatly appreciated and help sustain these services. As a peer led organization we know the importance in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our members seeking these services. Here is a brief description of some of these services and days they are offered at Being Alive: Mondays New! Monday Morning Yoga, Time & location to be announced Starting in September, check back frequently for more details. Acupuncture, 12:30p - 3:30p Treatment for a range of conditions including pain management, neuropathy and other side effects, addictions, stress, headaches, and allergies. Painting & Drawing Class A painting & drawing class, especially for the beginner, or for anyone who wants to build a portfolio. All materials are provided. Hang with your peers and perfect your artistic flair. New for February only: Balloon Art. Tuesdays Psychotherapy Being Alive's psychotherapist, Roland Lira, holds psychotherapy group covering the following issues: grief, loss, daily stressors, family of origin issues, childhood abuse, self-acceptance, anxiety and HIV issues. Wednesdays Psychotherapy Being Alive's psychotherapist, Roland Lira, holds psychotherapy group covering the following issues: grief, loss, daily stressors, family of origin issues, childhood abuse, self-acceptance, anxiety and HIV issues. Thursdays Hypnotherapy Ceramics Learn ceramics and wheel-throwing. Beginners to advanced are welcome. We have a full working studio, complete with potters wheels, a kiln, a full range of glazing options, and storage. Yoga Healing Touch, 6:00p & 7:00p Alternative healing by hands-on energy-based techniques. New! Acupuncture, 10:00a - 3:00p A new acupuncture clinic will be starting in August on Saturdays from 10:00a - 3:00p at our West Hollywood location.
